About Us
Our Background
Established in 2009, Ensemble Zdravec is a friendly group of adults of all ages who love Macedonian folk dance. They rehearse weekly in Markham, just north of Toronto, and perform several times a year in the GTA and beyond. Throughout the years Zdravec's membership has evolved and transformed, but almost a decade after Zdravec's founding, original members Carol, Lena, and Lovisa continue to be active members! Since 2014, Zdravec has been taught and directed by a professional choreographer: the talented former Macedonian State Folk Ensemble Tanec dancer, Vlasto Petkovski, who succeeded dance instructor/choreographer Lile Dafoska. Vlasto has taken Zdravec to new heights and has exposed them to numerous performance opportunities and to countless dances, both celebrated traditional staples and charming new productions. Ensemble Zdravec hopes to see you at their next performance, and is always welcoming new members - inquire within!

everything-Macedonian-dance. Some of us have been dancing all of our lives while others have just started, either way, Macedonian folk dance has brought us all together.
